Remote Access

If you have activated your university login and university card, you will be able to access the library's electronic resources from home and off campus.

Remote access to e-books, e-journals and databases

If you are a student or member of staff of Stockholm University, you can use e-journals, e-books and databases whether you are off campus or on networked computers in Stockholm University's domain: su.se. For the service to work you need to activate your university card and university account.

University card and university account

If you are a student, activate your account and order a card.

If you are on the staff and have not activated your university card and account, contact the IT department at Stockholm University, helpdesk@it.su.se or tel 08-16 19 99.

Off campus

You don't need to make any settings in your browser.

If you have previously used the IT and media proxy service, we recommend that you delete the settings in your browser in order to avoid any problems.

In the event of problems with your university account, contact: helpdesk@it.su.se or tel 08-16 19 99

Technical details

For the remote access service to work on your computer, the following requirements should be met:

  • Your browser must accept cookies (part of the login service is based on the use of cookies).
  • Your browser must accept javascript.
  • We recommend that you turn off the pop-up blocker in your browser, or at least allow pop-ups from ezp.sub.su.se.
  • We recommend using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox as your browser.
  • If your computer or network has a firewall, outbound traffic to 130.237.165.40 must be allowed on ports tcp/2048-4000 and the port for https tcp/443.

Bookmarks

You can't save a bookmark directly to a database or e-journal. As remote access is based on dynamic URLs, the bookmark will not go to the same place the next time you use it.
